Who we are

Path of Mastery is provided by Aaron Lilla, personally ("I", "me"). By installing or using the app or this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them. The app is for Windows.

Open beta

Path of Mastery is in open beta. Expect bugs and changes. It is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Features may change or stop during the beta.

Licence to use the app

The app and website are proprietary software. I give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on your own computers. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer or take the app apart, except where the law allows it despite this term. Parts of the app are based on open-source code, listed under "Credits" below, and those parts stay under their own licences.

Free and Pro

• The tools that run on your computer (engine, build tools, path optimizer, loot filter, leveling, Wealth, Journey) are free.
• Pro is the AI features. During the open beta Pro is free for signed-in users. No payment is taken now.
• If paid Pro starts later, it will be a subscription you start yourself, with the price shown before you pay, and Stripe will process the payment. I will tell you before anything is charged.

Your account

You sign in with Discord. Keep that account secure; what happens while you are signed in counts as yours. You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live says so. You can stop using the service and delete your account yourself at any time, on the Account page or in the app (see the Privacy page).

Your content and the Marketplace

You keep ownership of what you make. Your synced builds and other items are private to you unless you share or publish them.

When you publish something to the Marketplace, the community build list, a share link or the bulk board, you give me a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, display and distribute it through the service, and to let other players save, copy and run it, for as long as it is published. This lets the service work. It ends when you unpublish it or delete your account, except for copies other players already saved on their own computers. You promise that you have the right to publish what you post and that it does not break anyone's rights or the law.

Acceptable use

• Do not break Path of Exile's terms of use, and do not use the app to automate gameplay.
• Do not spam, post advertising, or post anything illegal, hateful, abusive or misleading.
• Do not cheat the votes: no extra accounts, no vote trading, no scripts, no automated voting or saving.
• Do not attack, overload, probe or bypass the limits and checks of the service, or use another person's account.
• Do not use the service to gather other players' data.

Moderation and removal

I may review published content, with the help of automated tools, and may remove content, hide it, exclude votes, or restrict an account that breaks these terms or that I think puts the service or other players at risk. Content that several different players report can be hidden automatically until it is looked at. I will try to explain a removal, but I do not have to.

The AI runs on your own subscription

The AI assistant uses your own Claude or ChatGPT account, through that provider's tool on your computer. That relationship is between you and the provider, and their terms apply to it, including their fees and limits. AI answers can be wrong. Check them before you rely on them or spend anything in the game. See the Privacy page for what is sent.

The numbers

I work to match the game and Path of Building, but the game changes and mistakes happen. I am not responsible for in-game outcomes, lost items or currency.

Not affiliated

Path of Mastery is not affiliated with or endorsed by Grinding Gear Games in any way. Path of Exile is a trademark of Grinding Gear Games. It is also not affiliated with or endorsed by the Path of Building Community project.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, items, currency, profits or game accounts, arising from your use of the service. My total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid me in the 12 months before the claim and 50 US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending your use

You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app and deleting your account. I can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or end the service or the beta, and I will give notice where I reasonably can. The sections that should survive (content licence for copies already saved, credits, liability, governing law) do.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state and federal courts in Delaware, and you and I agree to their jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you a right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Changes

I may update these terms. I will change the date above, and if the change matters I will tell you in the app or on the changelog. Using the service after a change means you accept it.
